Adventure Sessions

Let’s go on an Adventure! What exactly is that?

What to know

Most places require a permit to take photos at. It depends on what area and location you are interested in, if you like one but aren’t sure about the permit, feel free to ask us!

Some (not all) places require a hike, we are always down to go on an adventure if the destination is breathtaking! If you have a favorite hike, then lets go! It is not required!

While looking at locations, take into account how far you would like to drive. Would you like it to be closer to Denver or somewhere further away?

I love our locations, but I am always excited to find new locations and explore other places! If you have a location in mind, we would love to hear about it!

Let’s go over everything!

Where should we go?

The first step is deciding where you’d like to go! What kind of vibe are you going for? Would you like to be somewhere outdoors, in the city, maybe somewhere cozy like at home? I suggest going on pinterest and seeing what background you like most! Here’s a link to give you more ideas! https://pin.it/5lHBAPe

Date Night Ideas?

After you decide where you’d like to go, now you decide what you would like to do. The reason we call these sessions an adventure session instead of an engagement shoot, is because we want you to enjoy your time and to do an activity that shows your personality and your relationship! So instead of just having you pose in front of the camera, we have you naturally have fun and we capture the candid and sweet moments. Be sure to check out our list of ideas! What should you wear?

Wear something that you love and makes you confident! Wear something that shows your personality and something that puts you in a fun mood! My biggest advice is color coordinate your outfits! Read more at the bottom of this guide! Heres a link to help you color coordinate your outfits! (pay attention to the colors and how they blend or stand out from the environment.) https://pin.it/10OgC88

Where Are We Going?

My favorite suggestion:

Somewhere meaningful

My first suggestion is going somewhere that is meaningful to you. Maybe its where you had your first date, or where you met. Maybe its your favorite place to go when you need a date night or a personal property that you adore. If you don’t have somewhere specific you’d like, heres some other options:

  • At home
  • Coffee shop/Bar
  • Union Station/Downtown
  • City Park/Cheesman Park/any park
  • Stanley Lake
  • Mt.Falcon
  • Coyote Song Trail
  • Windy Saddle Park/Golden
  • Lost Gulch
  • Chautauqua park
  • Red Rocks
  • Mt.Evans
  • Echo Lake
  • Rocky Mountain National Park
  • Betasso preserve
  • Gross Reservoir in Boulder
  • Loveland Pass
  • Lake Dillion in Breck
  • Guanella Pass/Georgetown
  • The Great Sand Dunes
  • Paint Mines
  • Garden of the Gods

What Do You Want to Do?

  • Picnic in a park or after a hike
  • Water activities (Canoeing, splashing in the water, air mattress on the water, etc)
  • Fast food date (Chick-fil-a, In-N-Out, your favorite midnight snack)
  • Late night park date (Lets have you run around talk about life together)
  • Date night/hangout downtown
  • Ice cream/froyo date
  • Pizza date
  • Cooking
  • Smore with Bonefire
  • Making something for your wedding (party favors, or something you are diying)
  • Chores (washing a car, laundry, gardening, shopping)
  • Target date

What Should You Wear?

Colors:

I would highly suggest simple colors, like neutrals, browns, whites or blacks. Also a pop of color looks beautiful! Maybe a terra-cotta or a earthy color. Think of what you would like your shoot to look like, heres an example of two photoshoots that were taken 30 minutes apart. Same location, same weather, but the colors of the clothes determined how the photos would feel.

Outfits:

I would suggest having two outfits. One that is a fun and casual outfit. Something that you would normally wear and something that is your personality (maybe some jeans or a skirt and a cute shirt.) Then I would bring another outfit that is a bit more formal and fancy (maybe a nice dress with a button down.)
